Women On Mission… INFORMED and INVOLVED!

Ladies, First Baptist Church Statesboro has six Women on Missions groups. We welcome you to choose one of these pathways in which you can be supportive of missions involvement locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally.

1. ENCOURAGERS WOM GROUP: Meets quarterly. Co-Leaders: Laura White, Terri Lanier, Kay Rule, and Star Anderson. This group gathers to plan and pray for the various (mostly local) mission projects in which they participate.

2. JOURNEY WOM GROUP: Meets quarterly. Leader: Trish Williams. This group, comprised mostly of working women, gathers to discuss, plan, and pray for various church-wide and seasonal mission projects.

3. CIRCLE OF HOPE WOM GROUP: Meets first Monday of each month, 2:00pm, Averitt Room, Perry Fellowship Hall. Leader: Mima Owens. This group focuses on support of a variety of mission projects, as well as training, information, and inspiration related to a true “world mission vision” for our church.

4. “KN” WOM GROUP: Meets monthly. This group sets its meetings to best fit the calendar needs of its members. Leader: Karen Brazell. The primary focus of this group is to intercede in prayer and send encouragement to a lady who is working with our IMB’s Deaf Affinity in Asia Pacific Rim, praying for her and for her ministry.

5. CARING THREADS WOM GROUP: Meets every Tuesday at 10:00am in Room B303. Leader: Joan Slaght. This group focuses on sewing, crocheting, knitting, etc. hand-made items to minister to needs in our local community and for mission work world-wide. They have contributed over 53,000 items over the last 15 years in support of multiple ministries, both in our local community and beyond.

6. PraiseMoves: Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00am and 5:30pm in the Historic Sanctuary. Leaders Gloria Leeb and Becky Johnson. This is a low impact, stretching and strengthening hour of exercise using elements of scripture-based posture training.
