Food Service Director

First Baptist Church Statesboro is seeking a full-time Food Service Director to join our ministry team. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing excellent guest service and preparing delicious meals for our congregation. The ideal candidate will take pride in creating a welcoming dining experience that supports our church’s mission of fellowship and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan menus, order supplies, prepare, cook, and serve meals for all church-related activities (weekly meals, receptions, banquets, luncheons, special events, and more).
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in accordance with ServSafe health, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
  • Keep kitchen areas, dry goods, coolers, freezers, and equipment organized, clean, and well-stocked.
  • Oversee food service operations with efficiency and good stewardship, ensuring quality, minimizing waste, and operating within an established budget.
  • Supervise and assign food service staff as needed.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service, responding to feedback and accommodating special dietary needs.
  • Participate in weekly team and monthly staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by church leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years as a culinary professional
  • Minimum 2 years of food service managerial experience

Part Time Facilities

First Baptist Church Statesboro is seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Facilities Team Member to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the church’s mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for all worship services, ministries, and community activities.

Our Mission & Your Role

The Facilities Team assists the entire church staff in a professional manner to fulfill the church’s core mission and its objectives of Discipleship, Worship, Ministry, Fellowship, and Evangelism.

As a Part-Time Facilities Team Member, you will contribute directly to this by:

    • Preparing Spaces: Setting up and tearing down rooms and equipment (tables, chairs, sound equipment, etc.) for various meetings, classes, events, and worship services.
    • Routine Maintenance: Performing minor repairs and general upkeep tasks around the campus (e.g., changing light bulbs, minor plumbing/carpentry).
    • Cleaning: Assisting with general cleaning duties to ensure the campus is always presentable.
    • Security: Locking and unlocking facilities as needed, and ensuring the premises are secure during and after shifts.
    • Grounds Support: Assisting with light exterior tasks, such as clearing walkways or coordinating with external groundskeeping services.
    • Food Service Support: Assist our Food Service team for church events.

Full Time Housekeeper

First Baptist Church Statesboro is seeking a dedicated and reliable Full-Time Housekeeper to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the church’s mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for all worship services, ministries, and community activities.

Job Summary

To support the Church’s mission and vision by ensuring the general cleanliness of the Church’s buildings.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED.

    • Ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
    • Capable of working independently and following instructions without immediate supervision; detail oriented; cooperative attitude with other staff, vendors, church members, and the public.
    • Show up when scheduled to work with minimal absenteeism.
    • Physically able to lift 50 pounds.
    • Work additional hours occasionally during evenings and weekends.

Core Responsibilities / Tasks

Perform custodial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, trash removal, etc.

    • Maintain an inventory of supplies and report needs to supervisor.
    • Use the church’s equipment and various cleaning products as intended in a safe manner.
